In 2011 EBC embarked on its campaign to use only European cast and rolled steels for its entire brake rotor program and the ATV units are no exception. It has not proven easy to find the right grades of steel for our high EBC specification on the open market so we went ahead and had it made for us.
Our new stainless steel is cast and mill rolled in GERMANY to an exact specification with chrome for the lustre finish and the exact carbon content to allow a perfect heat treatment process. This brings you a tough rotor that is not “Over Hard” and still has a good friction level yet is resistant to abrasion and corrosion like no other rotor.
EBC rotors are then heat treated and tempered back to the perfect hardness and precision ground on our new vertical grinding machines and final inspected ready for you to use and abuse in the toughest conditions of Motocross riding or racing.
EBC Brakes offer three types of brake pads for use with your ATV rotor….
1) X pads – a carbon graphite based organic sport brake compound ideal for fast dry riding
2) R Pads – a US made sintered bronze allow pad for long lasting general ATV riding
3) SV – Severe Duty ATV pads for longest life in all the toughest conditions you can encounter
EBC also offer SUPERMOTO front floating rotor Kits and Motocross OVERSIZE FLOATING ROTOR KITS for MX bikes and even some oversize kits for Side by side machines.

| SAFETY CONCERN – USE OF ATVS/QUADS ON PUBLIC ROADS |
Also in Europe we are seeing ATV’s used for highway use, some scary quick four wheelers are flying around on public roads these days and we wonder if the riders of those machines have paid enough attention to tire and brake choices which vary tremendously to what these units were designed for. Our advice here is, its all fine and dandy you riding an ATV at 70 MPH on a street but were your brakes designed with high heat capabilities, Generally ATV brakes are designed to last well in mud water and sand but not necessarily to handle the high speeds of street use.
EBC Brakes makes no warranty that its brakes will transform a machine designed essentially for off road use into a safe machine to use on the highway and all of our products are offered for OFF HIGHWAY use only.
If you do use you ATV on highway no matter what brakes you use, drive carefully and slowly and use the BEST brake pads you can buy.
EBC Brakes are NOT tested or approved for highway use on ATVs at this time and homologation and safety for highways use is totally the responsibility of the vehicle manufacturer. |
